Client Challenge
The education group of a prominent business family approached Gemba as most of the institutions were underperforming. They were losing on admissions and placements steadily over the last 6 years. The pandemic further intensified the damage with poor quality academics due to online classes, decreased student morale and dwindling impact on overall campus experience. There was a leadership crisis and many good faculty members were quitting for better opportunities. The downward spiral of revenue and branding worried the owners and sought an OD intervention
Gemba’s Solution
The intervention took a multi pronged approach. The leadership team went through an assessment & reorganisation. Professionals were brought to run the business plans vetted by the owners. The focus on employee experience created many engagement initiatives. Campus life was enriched with many curricular and co-curricular activities. Branding and PR plan was done involving the focus group methods. All culminated in doubling up of revenues through increased admissions. Placement records played a pill factor for admissions. Social media marketing took the campus life to target zones. Cherry on the cake was bagging "Great Place to Work" award with very high rankings
